About the role

As IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered using a best-practice Project Management and Delivery Approach. You will ensure that projects are delivered within the agreed scope, time, cost and quality, in line with the approved business case, working with business stakeholders as various levels to deliver specified project outputs.

This role focusses on two key areas of responsibility:

  • Managing a portfolio of organisational projects; providing expert knowledge and support, monitoring progress, driving the business towards delivery and reporting on project status.
  • Working with the Head of Project Management & Technology in the design, development, introduction, training and on-going iteration of the organisation’s Project Management Methodology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act in a ‘business partner’ capacity, taking a lead in planning, co-ordination, time, costs, quality and scope management and matrix management of business delivery teams assembled out of various stakeholders
  • Analyse and define the scope for each project, highlight risks, assumptions, critical success factors, project team structures and roles & responsibilities;
  • Ensure detailed project, implementation and action plans are created for the duration of each project in accordance with project management lifecycle
  • Ensure project teams have the required toolsets and processes in place and that all relevant staff are trained and equipped to deliver successfully
  • Ensure that the PMO meets its targets and supports the delivery of organisational and strategic goals
  • Manage the administration for project submissions and approvals through the agreed prioritisation and approval process, maintaining a pipeline of approved projects

About you

The successful candidate should have strong project or programme management experience and excellent organisational. You will be able to promote best practices in managing interrelated projects and programmes to ensure successful delivery and have a recognised formal project/programme management qualification (PMP, Prince2 or MSP). You should also have experience of managing a range of project types and complex business initiatives and change programmes.
