About the role

*This is a fixed term contract for 18 months

This Project Manager acts as a critical link between business areas and external stakeholders.  Working with operational and project teams they perform a wide range of activities, covering all aspects from identifying and planning to realisation of the key objectives of SBHG’s Fire Safety Strategy.  Visible, approachable, accountable, and available, the purpose of this role is to manage the successful transformation of SBHG’s housing stock to conform to all current Building and Fire Safety regulations.  

Delivering defined programme outcomes and long-lasting benefits to the business and our residents, the Project Manager will monitor and communicate progress, drive change and work closely with senior stakeholders to clearly define and manage outputs and timelines as well as being a key support person to those in need around the Assets directorate.  This role oversees multiple activities at any one given time.  There are matrix management and budget responsibilities to this role when managing projects and delivering benefits.  This role will also act as contracts manager where necessary dealing with developers and contractors onsite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as Project Manager/contracts manager on schemes requiring properties to be brought up to standard to comply with the Building Safety Act 2022 and Fire Safety Act 2022
  • Play a key role in identifying, clarifying and tracking outputs and outcomes of workstreams within the wider Building Safety projects
  • Delivers projects in accordance to the SBHA project delivery framework
  • Reports on progress and outcomes in a timely, accurate and assured manner providing evidence and facts where required. Ensure monthly contract review meetings take place and the contracts run in line with the organisation’s standing order procedures
  • Be a business-focused advisor:  Ensure the Building Safety Project will cover everything it set out to deliver, meet targeted outcomes and operational benefits. 
  • Take the initiative and take ownership in making sure business areas are prepared for the implementation of the programme of building safety/fire safety works and all teams are continually engaged to meet objectives.

About you

As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate a proven ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities, consistently delivering high-quality outcomes even under pressure.

You will have a track record of working effectively with senior stakeholders to drive change, ensuring the execution of plans to time, cost, and quality while holding them accountable.

You should have a track record of providing exceptional service to both internal and external customers, going above and beyond to meet their needs and exceed expectations.

You will have a proven history of transforming project outputs and capabilities into long-lasting and embedded benefits, and understanding the importance of measuring and evaluating these outcomes. Experience in Asset Management/Compliance within the Social Housing sector would be desirable.
